About
Daniel Connolly is an illustrator, printmaker, and building surveyor, based in Lincolnshire.
Whilst enrolled on a Ba(Hons) Illustration degree, Daniel was encouraged to trial printmaking as an extension to his earlier pen and ink line work. This progressed into a love for the frustratingly rewarding process of copper plate etching and engraving, a process summarised within my home page video.
Primarily printing in black or sepia inks, he focusses on a wide range of subjects, from anatomical and architectural studies to landscapes and seascapes. A select number of prints are coloured using using watercolour and gouache paints. Given the limited availability, these pieces are scanned and printed digitally and are available upon request.
Following an interest in architectural illustration, Daniel pursued a MSc in Building Surveying which has encouraged the use of modern CAD software packages for the production of architectural plans and illustrations alongside the more traditional mediums.
